Hongtao Hao is a fifth-year Ph.D. student in Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he is fortunate to work with Professor Joseph Austerweil . His research interests encompass machine learning (with applications in healthcare and social sciences), stochastic processes, and Bayesian nonparametrics.
He earned his Master’s degree in Media Arts and Sciences from the Media School of Indiana University in 2020, advised by Dr. Nicole Martins . Prior to his Ph.D. studies, he volunteered as a research assistant for Yong-Yeol Ahn from August 2020 to August 2021. He also holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Renmin University of China (Beijing) and an undergraduate degree in English from Hebei Normal University (Shijiazhuang).
